French rococo style case has a dark brown finish with copper highlighted undertones, seated figure of a man holds a soft covered book on his lap, a chalice in his hand and a lyre leans against his side. 4 in. inset porcelain dial signed with Ansonia trade mark, has black hour numbers, original hands and exposed Brocot escapement with steel pallets; brass spring driven 8 day movement signed “Ansonia Clock Co., New York, U.S.A.” has an half hour strike on a coiled gong. In very good condition, movement is running and striking, case has an attractive original finish and no breaks or repairs, dial has 2 minor hairlines at 1 & 8. Measures 14.5 in. high x 15.5 in. wide x 7 in. deep.

Brass, 8 day, spring driven movement No. 6 ¼, signed – Ansonia Clock Co. New York, U.S.A. – strikes on a coiled gong and has brass pendulum bob. In a white metal case, figural top depicts a seated Isaac Newton holding a globe, next to a book stand with inkwell on top; long cast metal base with an ebony finish and figural mount on the front. Finish on the metal is worn in some spots. 15 in. high x 17.5 in. wide.
